During my recent stay at the Doelen in Middelburg, I discovered an engaging culinary journey that complemented its cozy ambiance. The hotel's location is commendable; nestled near busy shopping streets, cozy pubs, and charming street cafés, it offers easy access to explore the local scene. As a marine biologist, I'm often captivated by nature, but the restaurant's innovation drew me in. I savored a delightful dinner featuring seasonal ingredients, artfully presented, engaging both the palate and the eyes. The atmosphere was tranquil, ideal for unwinding after a day of exploration. Breakfast was a highlight; I appreciated the range of options, from fresh pastries to hearty dishes, all served with excellent coffee. The view from the dining area added a pleasant touch to the meal. The staff were approachable and attentive, ensuring a smooth dining experience. Combined with a clean and comfortable room, this hotel resonates with both relaxation and culinary exploration. Should my travels lead me back to Middelburg, I would gladly return to further indulge in the flavors this hotel has to offer.
